What is Huawei AppGallery and How It Works: Basic Guide

Currently Huawei is incessantly kicking off the technology world. Huawei P20 and P20 Pro mobile phones are one of them. Another thing, Huawei now has its own application store, Huawei AppGallery.

Since the last few years, Huawei has indeed become a big name in the technology world. Especially when talking about smartphones. Huawei is in the top five companies that sell the most cellphones in the world.

Now, talking about the application market, of course the popular ones are Apple's App Store (for iOS) and Google's Play Store (for Android). If we talk about the specifics of Android, besides the Play Store, maybe the Galaxy App Store is a big name too.

Huawei doesn't want to be left behind either. The Huawei AppGallery application store was born.

AppGallery is HUAWEI's app store, just like the Google Play Store for Google. The first AppGallery application is present in the Huawei P20 mobile phone line by default. The next smartphone from Huawei will also (also under the Honor flag).

But existing Huawei cellphones can also use it. For example the Huawei P10. AppGallery for legacy devices will begin rolling out in Q2 2018, depending on model and region.

Huawei said that AppGallery has a collection of applications with free, freemium, and premium options. What is interesting, AppGallery will only display applications that are safe (family-friendly) with a rating range of 3.5 to 5 stars.

Oh, you also need to have a Huawei ID to access AppGallery.

Although common apps are available, don't be surprised if AppGallery features apps from Asia. After all Huawei is a manufacturer from China, and its market share is large in Asia.

On the other hand, AppGallery looks like any other app store. With our featured application pages (Featured), Category, Top, Manage Applications, and Applications. There is also an editor's choice of application.

Interestingly, there is a possibility that a region-limited application on the Play Store could appear on the Huawei AppGallery. So it's not bad for alternatives. Well, let's see what it looks like. As long as it don't have a lot of random applications.
